IDEAWERKS Concert and Fundraiser

September 20, 2012
A program called the IDEAWERKS Indigenous Creative Academy is creating Minneapolis’ latest music producers! Ideawerks is a youth program located in Powderhorn Park and East Phillips Park that teaches youth everything they need to know about music production. Participants have created music with genres ranging from hip-hop to folk music. A fundraiser to benefit the program will be taking place this Sunday with dancers and live musical acts, including performances from IDEAWERKS students and the infamous Y.N. Rich Kids of “Hot Cheetos and Takis” fame. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 22nd at Powderhorn Park.
Organizers Simone Speers and Stephen Slater talked with KFAI's Joanna Solotaroff about the event.
