Harrington To Lead Transit Police

September 1, 2012
John Harrington will become the new chief of police for Metro Transit in Minneapolis and St. Paul. He’s well known to Minnesotans, especially in the city of St. Paul. He’s a DFL state senator and a former police chief for the city. His term in the legislature ends with the election this November, and then he’ll be taking over a force of 124 full and part-time officers as Metro Transit goes through a time of expansion. John Harrington talked with KFAI’s Bob Hines and Michelle Alimoradi, who asked about the challenges of policing transit.
