State Fair Artist Joe Heffron

August 20, 2012
The Minnesota State Fair begins this Thursday.
For each of the past nine years the State Fair Foundation has produced a piece of original poster art to commemorate the fair – and this year’s artist is Joe Heffron.
Joe lives in the Como Park area of St. Paul, went to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has been in graphic design and illustration for more than 20 years.
His State Fair poster features a gigantic, magnificently colorful Rooster dominating the scene with flying cheese curds and mini-donuts all around, and the rooster is standing behind a wall of corndogs, cotton candy, ribbons, cookies, and a pickle on a stick.
Joe Heffron talked with KFAI's Solvejg Wastvedt on The Takeaway.
