Ellison Talks Politics
August 14, 2012
Chris Fields, a Republican running for Congress in Minnesota's Fifth District against Democratic incumbent Keith Ellison, collected $31,216 in campaign donations during the first 25 days of July, according to his campaign.
A former Marine, Fields won the Republican Party endorsement in April to challenge Ellison. Shortly after that endorsement, Fields was a guest on the KFAI Weekly News.
Fields now has over $51,000 in the bank after attracting 955 new donors last month. Ellison had almost $143,000 collected by June 30, the end of the last campaign finance reporting period. His staff has yet to release July fundraising numbers.
Fields and Ellison are scheduled to debate at the Minnesota State Fair at noon on Wednesday, August 29th.
A couple of weeks ago we heard Charlie Rudoy’s profile of Chris Fields
Charlie also sat down for a conversation with Keith Ellison, and he asked about the Fields campaign.
