How does jazz improvisation differ from flamenco improvisation? Click onto KFAI's only webcast and only flamenco show, Poquito y Bueno, and pull up the July 19th show to find out. Host Kristina de Sacramento has been featuring a series of conversations with Spanish flamenco/jazz pianist/composer Sergio Pamies. Pamies, a native of Granada, Spain, has been living in Denton, Texas, getting a master's degree in jazz composition and jazz piano. He's doing his dissertation on Chick Corea and Paco de Lucia - what a duo! On the July 19 show, Sergio talks about the difference between flamenco and jazz improvisation, and Kristina plays Miles Davis and Charlie Mingus along with a cut from Sergio's new CD, "Borrachito".
