
Electric Cars Charge Forward

It wasn’t long ago that electric cars were thought to be impractical. They were met with resistance by oil producers and skepticism by political leaders. But things have changed, and now federal and state governments, car manufacturers, and industry leaders are touting alternative energy vehicles as the future of automotive transportation. At a couple of recent Twin Cities events, KFAI’s Allison Osberg found renewed enthusiasm for electric cars, partly in response to new federal mileage standards that were pushed forward by President Obama.
