Revisiting Donna Summer's 2008 KFAI Interview
May 18, 2012
The music world was shaken this week with news of the death of legendary songwriter, soul singer and "disco queen" Donna Summer. Summer passed away on May 17th due to cancer. Summer ruled the Billboard Hot 100 from 1976 to the early 1980s, with nine Top 40 hits and three consecutive number-one double-albums. But she wasn't resting on her past success: Summer was still making music and performing. One person very saddened by the news of her passing was DJ Ronny D, who specializes in disco and has worked with Summer on tour. Ronny interviewed Summer on KFAI in 2008. You can hear that interview here.
