Former Priests Speak Their Minds
May 18, 2012
Story by CJ Nile
A group of former Catholic priests held a press conference yesterday to voice their opposition to Minnesota’s proposed constitutional marriage amendment that would limit marriage to the union of a man and a woman. The Catholic church is officially in favor of the amendment and has used its money and energy to support passage. Former priests John Estrom, Paul Morebacher, and Ed Flavin read statements as to why they, as Catholics and individuals, opposed banning gay marriage. They talked with KFAI’s CJ Nile about their views and the range of opinions on this issue.
