What would it mean to your family if there was new baby in the house or a sudden illness that required leave from your job?
A national organization that advocates for paid leave for new parents and other family–friendly policies says Minnesota is merely average in supporting new parents in the workforce.
The National Partnership for Women & Families ranked all fifty states on their laws and regulations that govern paid leave and workplace rights and found that Minnesota only managed a “C”.
Vicki Shabo is the director of work and family programs at the National Partnership for Women & Families. She talked with KFAI’s Shanna Gratton, who asked why none of the fifty states earned an “A”?
