George Kahumoku Jr. and Keoki Kahumoku on the Fubar Omniverse Friday, Feb 24!

February 23, 2012
This Friday morning, February 24 from 10 AM to noon, the Fubar Omniverse brings a little Hawai'ian warmth to the Twin Cities airwaves.
At 10:00 Blanche and guest host Molly Kala'akeahoho'imau spin Hawaiian slack key guitar and ukulele tunes. At 11:00, father and son Hawai'ian slack key duo George Kahumoku Jr. and Keoki Kahumoku visit the studio to play, sing, "talk story," and share their love of land, music, and culture.
Describing George Kahumoku Jr. and his interests and accomplishments requires quite a list: slack key guitar master, songwriter, winner of multiple Grammy and Na Hoku Hanohano (Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts) Awards, teacher, artist, sculptor, storyteller and writer, farmer, and entrepreneur. Fifth-generation slack key guitarist Keoki Kahumoku carries on the family traditions of performance and teaching.
George and Keoki perform at 8 PM at The Cedar Friday night, with Ernie Kanoa and friends performing in the lobby before the show. For tickets and more information about the artists here
