GRACIAS A LA VIDA (Violeta Parra and her music)

This Thursday, January 26, Encuentro dedicates a special program to Violeta Parra, the great Chilean songwriter, folklorist, ethnomusicologist and icon of the Latin American New Song Movement. The program will present well-known and not-so-well-known songs composed and/or rescued by Violeta —interpreted by herself and other important Latin American singers.

Encuentro airs every Thursday, from 8:00 to 10:00 PM., here at KFAI, Radio Without Boundaries.
