Northside Photo Exhibit

January 13, 2012
Story by Blake Mattson
The north side of Minneapolis is still recovering from May 22’s tornado. In an effort to focus attention on the work that remains, a group of young photographers created an exhibit called “Of Sadness and Hope: Images from the Northside Tornado”.
The display was organized under the direction of a local nonprofit called EDIT, and can be viewed at the University of Minnesota’s Urban Research and Outreach/Engagement Center at 2100 Plymouth Avenue North through January 27th.
Some of the artists are from neighborhoods that were hit. They talked with KFAI’s Blake Mattson about the project, and about their memories of the storm.
