District 59 Candidate Forum
November 29, 2011
Six candidates who would like to serve in the Minnesota Senate participated in a political forum at the University of Minnesota on Monday, November 28th. A few weeks ago, State Senator Larry Pogemiller stepped down from his seat in district 59 after representing part of Minneapolis for almost 30 years. Five Democrats and one Republican are vying to replace Pogemiller.
The five Democrats, Peter Wagenius, Paul Ostrow, Jacob Frey, Kari Dziedzic and Mohamud Noor, will face off in a primary on Tuesday, December 6th. The survivor of that contest will face Republican candidate Ben Schwanke in the special general election on Tuesday, January 10th.
