Dog Park Site Selected
November 23, 2011
Last night the Minneapolis Park Board Planning Committee voted to place an off leash dog area within a park maintenance center in south Minneapolis.
The site is located at 38th and Dupont across from Lakewood Cemetery. It’s about ten blocks from Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, where a proposed off leash dog area became a controversial issue last year. Creating a dog park at the new site will cost approximately $130,000.
KFAI Reporter Susan Gray spoke with Park Commissioner Brad Bourn and Park Board President John Erwin.
