DALE CONNELLY JOINS KFAI AS NEWS DIRECTOR

Join KFAI staff, volunteers and the Board of Directors in welcoming Mr. Dale Connelly as KFAI's News Director when he takes hold of the proverbial news baton on Monday, June 13, 2011.

Dale Connelly is no stranger to KFAI, having served as a producer of KFAI's Legacy Amendment programming during the past 12 months. His expertise as a Public Radio Professional stems from his various positions with Minnesota Public Radio from 1976 to 2010. In that span of 34 years, Dale was the Creator and Host/Producer of Radio Heartland, Writer and Co-Host of The Morning Show, and a Reporter for MPR News. Dale's work has also been seen around the Twin Cities on various blog sites and on-line news publications in recent times.

Dale received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University, majoring in Radio & Television immediately before launching his public radio career in the Twin Cities.

As noted in a recent report to the KFAI Board of Directors, the decision-making process was challenging because of the high number of qualified candidates. The process was very positive as it presented opportunities to learn more about the richness of news resources in our midst as well as tagging some unknown candidates as potential KFAI news reporters/producers/volunteers.

Your're welcome to stop by KFAI to welcome and make comfortable our newest KFAI staff member. He will be reachable at 612.341.3144 ×16 and daleconnelly@kfai.org after June 13, 2011.
