Nuruddin Farah on Write on Radio Tuesday, Oct. 5, 7-8 p.m.
October 3, 2010
On Tuesday, October 5th, it's our second half of the fall Pledge Drive, and we have an international show to celebrate.
Joining us live in the studio will be Somalian novelist Nuruddin Farah. Nuruddin Farah is the author of many works, among them Knots, Links, and Maps, the first book of Farah's second trilogy, Blood in the Sun (on the acclaimed, three-volume Variations on the Theme of an African Dictatorship). Joining Nuruddin Farah will be Charles Sugnet, Morse-Alumni Distinguished Teaching Professor of English at the University of Minnesota, and also co-host of KFAI's African Rhythms, airing Thursdays noon to 2:00.
Also this week, psychologist Jeanne Parr Lemkau joins us via telephone to talk about her memoir Lost and Found in Cuba: A Tale of Midlife Rebellion, the story of how she learned about herself as well as the different templates for health care.
