Anchee Min and Gayla Marty on Write on Radio Thursday, May 13, 11-noon

May 12, 2010
On Thursday, May 13th, Anchee Min, acclaimed author of Red Azalea and Becoming Madame Mao, talks with Ian about her newest novel Pearl of China, based on the life of the famous Pearl S. Buck. Anchee Min also treats us to a few lines of Chinese opera!
Gayla Marty also joins us in the studio to talk with Stephanie Wilbur Ash about her memoir Memory of Trees: A Daughter's Story of a Family Farm, newly out from the University of Minnesota Press and now earning rave reviews for its examination of the relationship of forests, farms, and migration in Western civilization to her family's former farm in Pine County, Minnesota, four miles west of the St. Croix River.
Jennifer Dodgson will also join us for a few minutes to talk about up-coming Loft offerings this summer.
