Happy 30th Birthday, KFAI!

May 1, 2008
May 1, 2008 marks 30 years of KFAI programming in the Twin Cities. KFAI's first broadcast took place in the belfry at Walker Church in south Minneapolis. A handful of volunteers provided the first years of programming with a 10 watt license. KFAI grew up in the Powderhorn neighborhood and moved to its current location on the West Bank in 1991. You can read a brief synopsis of KFAI's history
here.
KFAI is planning a series of 30th Anniversary events for June 2008 – April 2009, highlighting the music, public affairs and cultural programs heard on KFAI. A complete calendar of happenings, including THE celebratory party for KFAI's power increase will be announced soon. Stay tuned!
