Women and the Peace and Anti-War Movements

March 18, 2008
Mary Scully, of the Iraq Peace Action Coalition; Marie Brown, of Women Against Military Madness; and Chante Wolf, of Veterans for Peace are some of the voices of women in the anti-war and peace movement today. Their roles in the movement are as strong as ever, but have taken on somewhat of a different tone. As part of KFAI's ongoing celebration of Women's History Month and in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the war in Iraq, news director Lauretta Dawolo Towns sat down with the women to discuss women leadership in the movement, racism and sexism in the military, challenges soldiers face when returning from battle, and even the fight ahead.
