Anti-War Gathering

March 18, 2008
On Thursday, March 6th, representatives from the Military Families Speak Out and Iraq Veterans Against War, gathered at the University of Minnesota's Blegen Hall to share their powerful personal stories and draw political lessons from their experiences.
Planned activities commemorating the 5th year of the war in Iraq continue with a peace vigil and potluck dinner on Wednesday March 19th. The vigil will take place at the Lake Street/Marshall Avenue Bridge over the Mississippi River bordering Minneapolis and St. Paul. Program speakers include Iraq Veterans Against the War members Wes Davies and Brandon Day, as well as Iraqi-American peace activist Sami Rasouli. The peace vigil will last from 5-6pm, followed by a potluck dinner and program at Macalester Plymouth United Church, located at 1658 Lincoln Avenue in St. Paul.
