Mankwe Ndosi, Director of the Center for Independent Artists, offers a lively discussion about art and the art of making a living at it. She and her guests examine questions such as: For whom does an artist make art? What are different ways that artists support ongoing work in the different art worlds? What are the roles and effects of artists in society? Are there sacrifices specific to artists that no one else makes? How long does an artist have to sacrifice? What about income at different times in an artist's career? Are there any strategic/structural ideas that could make for a more stable income for an artist? Joining Ms. Ndosi will be theater artist Laurie Carlos and muralist/painter Coyote along with some special guests.
