Roe Family Singers on Womenfolk
October 29, 2007
Named the Best Female Vocalist of 2006 by the City Pages, Kim Roe is a modern-day June Carter Cash, combining old-fashioned country charm with a dark Appalachian sensibility. Together with husband Quillan Roe and a whole truckload of friends, they form The Roe Family Singers, an old-timey stringband that features an odd assortment of banjo, guitar, autoharp, washboard, upright bass, mandolin and musical saw. They'll stop by the KFAI studios to play live on Womenfolk on Sunday, November 4th to give you a sneak peak of what you can hear that evening as Womenfolk moves to downtown Minneapolis for the kick-off to this year's Womenfolk at Gethsemane concert series.
Local music writer Cyn Collins will also be joining the fun, co-hosting with Ellen Stanley so don't miss this special edition of Womenfolk!
