Get Up John's Revival Show

October 18, 2007
Every month a harmony-singing duo puts on a tent revival at a bar in St. Paul. Ok, so it's not a reigious revival but the Revival Show hosts are serious about music. The band calls itself the Get Up Johns, and their tight-harmonies bring forth sounds of the Monroe Brothers, the Stanley Brothers, and the Louvin Brothers. When they went to college the Get Up Johns each took a pledge not to drink, dance, or have sex. Nowadays they take a shot of whiskey before they sing.
You can catch the Get up John's Revival Show this Sunday night at the Turf Club in St. Paul.
