
A Case of Environmental Racism

On Sunday October 7th, the Environmental Justice Advocates of Minnesota (EJAM) hosted a discussion at Kwanzaa Community Church in North Minneapolis. 5th District Congressman Keith Ellison introduced featured speaker Sheila Holt-Orsted, a Tennessee native whose family has been a victim of environmental racism.
EJAM hosts a monthly Climate Justice Working Group discussion, which addresses global warming's effects on people of color and low-income communities. Their next meeting is Tuesday October 16th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Minneapolis Urban League, located at 2100 Plymouth Avenue North.
