U of M: Hunger Strike

University of Minnesota students, faculty, and union members gathered at the Northrop Mall on the University's East Bank campus, September 17, to kick off a hunger strike in support of U of M AFSCME workers.
The 24-hour Solidarity Hunger Strikers made a commitment to fast in support of the struggle for a fair contract for University of Minnesota AFSCME workers. The hunger strike also demonstrated the participants' frustration with the University administration's refusal to negotiate fairly with the unions. There were approximately 48 participants.
