Leonard Cohen Tribute With Mean Larry on Good Noise
September 9, 2007
The Good Noise Show, with host Dale Loomer, welcomes Twin Cities' musician Mean Larry this coming Monday, September 17, 2007, at 7am. Mean Larry will be in the KFAI studio talking and playing all things Leonard Cohen in advance of the 11th annual Chelsea Hotel birthday tribute concert. Larry & Dale will fill the air waves with Leonard's hits such as 'Democracy', 'Anthem', 'Bird on a Wire' & 'I'm Your Man'
This year's Leonard Cohen birthday bash is scheduled for Saturday, Sept 22nd at First Avenue, downtown Minneapolis. Early show starting at 6:00 pm. The early time slot is so that 'us old folks' can catch the concert and get home for the nightly news and the younger crowd can spend the rest of the evening eating, drinking and discussing the brilliance of Leonard's songs and the way the lyrics still resonate today.
Last year's Chelsea Hotel show included eight musicians and featured backing on several tunes by a 16 person choir. Who knows what surprises Larry will have lined up for this year? Tune in on Sept 17th at 7:00 to get a sneak peek.
The Good Noise show can be heard in Mpls-St Paul on both 90.3 FM and 106.7 FM from 6:00 to 9:00 on Monday mornings. Good Noise can also be heard through the known world on the internet at www.kfai.org Live Streaming during the show time. AND through the KFAI internet Archive feature any time during the 2 weeks following the show's live airing.
