From Louis Armstrong's Hot Fives, to the Parker-Gillespie bebop groups, the Blue Note combos, and the Twin Cities' own Kelly Rossum Quintet, the five-piece format has provided jazz musicians with plenty of space for improvisation and inspiration. Join host Larry Englund as he celebrates the 5th Anniversary of Rhythm & Grooves (Tuesday, July 11, 10:30 - Midnight) with a show devoted to quintets past and present.
