May 1, 2008 marks 30 years of KFAI programming in the Twin Cities. KFAI’s first broadcast took place in the belfry at Walker Church in south Minneapolis.

KFAI is seeking listeners and volunteers to join the 2011-12 KFAI Board of Directors. Listener member applications are due on Friday, October 8, 2010 and volunteer member applications on Friday, November 12, 2010. For more information, click Here:http://www.kfai.org/elections

This day of special broadcasting provides opportunities for women’s and girls’ voices and issues to be heard on the airwaves. All of the shows are produced and hosted by women and girls from the Twin Cities. KFAI has been celebrating International Women’s Day since 1989!

International Women’s Day is a holiday recognized by the United Nations and is celebrated throughout the world on March 8. IWD encourages advocacy for women’s advancement everywhere in every way and for challenging the status quo for women’s equality and vigilance inspiring positive change.
