Originally from Virginia, Brice Woodall arrived in Chicago in 2005 and immediately began putting his own take on indie folktronica all over the map. It’s difficult to fit his work into a genre box; his songs are simultaneously digital and lushly organic, accessible and mysterious, playful and dark. He’s been called the Thom Yorke of the south and the Andrew Bird of outer space.

Caritas Vocal Ensemble is an a capella singing group that performs benefit concerts for charitable organizations in the Twin Cities who provide basic human services: food, shelter, clothing and health care – both physical and spiritual. Tune in this Sunday, April 26 at 6 p.m. and hear about the group’s mission of giving along with vocal music, live from KFAI’s studios.

It’s a couple weeks early, but that also gives you time to make plans to celebrate carnaval 2008!
