Celebrate the holidays this December with Womenfolk as we welcome live guests and give away CD’s every Tuesday from 2-4 pm!

On December 13th, we welcome Keri Noble into the studio to play songs from her new album More Than Santa and talk about her December 15th holiday shows at the Varsity Theater.

Womenfolk’s monthly concert series returns this Sunday, October 5th with special guests Eliza Blue: and The Dimestore Dames:, featuring Jennifer Markey and Kim Roe. These country/roots vocalists will play a free KFAI-sponsored concert at 7 pm at Gethsemane Church (905 4th Ave.

Womenfolk DJ Ellen Stanley hosts the next edition of KFAI Roots Night on Saturday, September 13th at the Acadia Cafe. In addition to playing MC, Ellen will pick up her banjo and share some of her own Mother Banjo: originals.

Womenfolk presents a special concert to kick off the station’s International Women’s Day celebrations on Thursday, March 1st at 9 pm at St. Paul’s Amsterdam Bar and Hall.

KFAI presents Austin, TX artist Carrie Elkin: at the Aster Cafe on Wednesday, March 9th at 9 pm as part of the Womenfolk Live concert series. Celebrating the release of her new Red House release Call It My Garden, she will be playing a special show hosted by DJ Ellen Stanley.

Tune in to the Sunday, March 1st show as Nirmala Rajasekar and her ensemble perform their unique brand of classical Indian music live on Womenfolk before they do a special concert at Gethsemane Church at 7 pm, kicking off KFAI’s celebration of International Women’s Day.

KFAI will present its final Womenfolk Live concert at the historic Gethsemane Church on Sunday, June 7, at 7 p.m.

Tune in to Womenfolk on Tuesday, May 24th for a special show, celebrating Minnesota talent. Indie-folk duo The Ericksons: will stop by the studio to play live and talk about the grand finale of their month-long residency at the Aster Cafe:

Tune in to KFAI this Sunday, July 1st as Womenfolk:node/123 moves to its new earlier time—11 a.m. You won’t have to wait until 1 p.m.

Tune in Tuesday, February 15th for Womenfolk’s:womenfolk annual Black History Month special Oh Freedom! It will feature new and classic folk, gospel and blues songs by your favorite African American female vocalists, including Odetta, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Cassandra Wilson, Elizabeth Cotten, Mavis Staples and local artist Chastity Brown.
