On December 13th, we welcome Keri Noble into the studio to play songs from her new album More Than Santa and talk about her December 15th holiday shows at the Varsity Theater.

Forging his own brand of high-energy, low-brow Upper Mississippi blues, the one-man band powerhouse Crankshaft has been gigging around Minneapolis for nearly three years.

It’s a double whammy! This weeks True Brit! will feature interviews with two outstanding musicians……first, Jerry Shirley – drummer with the immortal band Humble Pie. Jerry’s biography is just released and he’ll be telling stories about Syd Barrett, Keith Moon, Peter Frampton and Steve Marriott!

It’s a local music double-header Monday, November 28th, when members of Fort Wilson Riot and Phantom Tails stop by KFAI at 11am. The two bands bring their history of doing shows together to record for “Phantom Riot,” a split vinyl release party Saturday, December 3rd, at the Triple Rock Social Club.

Join host Glen Leslie this Friday, November 25, from 9:00 – 10:30pm for a Night of Hollywood Polynesia on Jet Set Planet. We’ll be hearing the best of the best from the world of Exotica. Also on tap is an interview with Exotik-a-GoGo, the house band at Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge in Northeast Minneapolis.

Original jazz, reggae, west-african, funk, and latin influenced music from this project led by guitarist Park Evans (These Modern Socks).
Featuring Brandon Wozniak (Atlantis Quartet, Impulso) on tenor and
alto saxophones, Pete Hennig on drums (Atlantis Quartet, Fantastic
Merlins), and Andrew Foreman on upright bass. MJ Gilmore hosts Parker Paisley in Studio 5.

Friday, Nov 25, noon to 4 PM, it’s the fourth annual Swamp Pop Marathon radio show. Blanche from Fubar Omniverse, Karl and Mick from Louisiana Rhythms, David Cummings from Rockin’ in Rhythm and Larry England from Rhythm and Grooves will be indulging in four hours of Swamp Pop radio. An alternative to spending the day fighting shopping crazed bargain hunters – Stay home and listen to the radio!

Listen to the archives of Good’n‘Country from this Saturday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. as host Ken Hippler and guest Ron Thums played two hours of songs honoring the men and women of our Armed Services. Artists included the well-known and obscure, and the timeline ranged from World War II to the current day.

Alfred “Pee Wee” Ellis, American saxophonist, composer and arranger will be featured on the Collective Eye, Saturday, November 12th at 12:15 p.m.
