A little (very little) summer humor: tonights program featuring sax and violins (ba-dum-bum!!!) Swedish tribal fiddle gangs from the ’70’s and saxes of all kinds and counties.
All over the map this week – North Africa, Barcelona, Toronto, Haitian music in Sweden, and more. In the second hour we hear from a variety of women of North Africa as well.
New dubs and old dubs, an Echo Chamber/Echo Beach Double Mix, a Mix Within A Mix, the Left Hand of Dubness, and then there were the blueberries… Just another typical Echo Chamber.
It’s the Fifth Anniversary of Rhythm Grooves. Quintets abound, from organ-based groups, to Blue Note combos, to Louis Armstrong and more. With an exception for the Slide Huxtable Quartet, having a CD release party on Thursday the 12th.
