The play list for this week and a tribute to the late Richard Widmark, fellow Minnesotan. At about half way through the last hour you can tune in to hear Mr. Widmark in a very good episode of Inner Sanctum from 1946
Another very eclectic mix of stuff inna Echo Chamber: from the excellent Love Trio in Dub (feat. U Roy), to Cabaret Voltaire; from the rootical sounds of the Love Grocer, to the brand new Devotion album from Cheb i Sabbah. And this was just the tip of the iceberg.
This show practically picked itself. The music choices just flew out of my hand and into the CD players. Featured today: an interview with keyboardist Mike Shaw, co-owner of Shaw’s Bar Grill. He and his wife, Colleen, have turned their club into one of the last authentic music roadhouses, catering to the ladies of the blues and the local blues and RB talent.
It was a packed morning with free tickets for listeners, some great requests, and Meg Hutchinson:http://www.meghutchinson.com calling in, looking forward to her next visit to the Twin Cities. She’ll be at the Cedar Cultural Center:http://www.thecedar.org on a co-bill with Kris Delmhorst. Both singer-songwriters have new records, and I’m sure they’ll share the stage for more than one song on April 10th.
