Thursday, February 4th on Write on Radio, Mark Wansa talks about his book The Linden and the Oak. His first novel, The Linden and the Oak tells the story of two families and an ill-fated romance set against three very different backdrops: the impoverished Carpatho-Rusyn peasant existence in Eastern Europe in the early 20th century; the horrific slaughter on the Eastern Front during World War I; and, finally, the voyage to a new life in Ameryka.
Also in this show, we talk with Eric Dregni about his food-obsessed chronicle of an American’s three years in Italy, Never Trust a Thin Cook and Other Lessons from Italy’s Culinary Capital. Eric Dregni is also the author of In Cod We Trust: Living the Norwegian Dream and Zamboni: The Coolest Machines on Ice_, among others.

It’s early February. In Rockhouse parlance, that means this is the week that we celebrate the show’s birthday. 23 years of bringing you Residents the Good Stuff on Thursday mornings. Thank you for your support. We couldn’t do it without you.
