If you want to listen to the archive of this week’s show, click “Listen Now”. The show actually starts at 3 minutes 55 seconds into the playback. Before that, it’s old news.
We had quite a few special guests on the show this week. Paul Metsa stopped by in the 2:00 hour to chat about the reunion gig for his old band, Cats Under The Stars. He also brought along a 45 record they made of “Louie, Louie” and another track recorded at Famous Dave’s Bluesfest in 2007.
In the 3:00 hour, John David and The Jerks stopped in and play 4 songs live in the studio. They are having a CD Release Party at my Freewheelin’ First Friday music series at the 331 Club on Friday, August 6.
Blowing the roof off the place tonight with brand new vinyl from Eric Blowtorch…along with U-Roy! Also, choice new dubs from the Basque Dub Foundation (BDF); a cool new track from Sista M (and DaVinci Sound); and part 2 of the “Gangsters, Vampires, Politicians, & Informers” Mix by Emch from Subatomic Sound System. Whew!
Guest Celestin Radison from Madagascar explains the French game of Petanque or Boules. Madagascar has taken the world championship three years in a row! We will listen to several songs from Madagascar. The 2nd half of the program features old and new music from France and French-speaking countries.
