Poet Margaret Hasse and novelist Pamela Carter Joern talk about the use of narrative in their respective work and the landscape of Nebraska and South Dakota. Hasse’s new collection of poetry is Milk and Tides, and Joern’s newest novel is The Plain Sense of Things.

In the second half of the show, award-winning poet and Iraq war veteran Brian Turner talks about his poems collected in Here, Bullet. He reads Monday, September 29, at 7 p.m., at Literary Witnesses, Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet Ave. (at Franklin) in Minneapolis.
