Peter Hessler is also the author of the Kiriyama Book Prize-winning River Town, which explored China’s changing sense of geography, and Oracle Bones , a National Book Award finalist that examines the role of history in contemporary China. Country Driving, exploring the impact of the automobile and the improved road system in China, completes the trilogy.
