5/3 in a nutshell…

All bumpers heard in the “Ooh” were various mixes of our “Ska from Studio 5” thingie… three different mixes, and we yakked and yakked over every one of ‘em! Want a little more ska? Dandy Livingstone’s got whatcha need. In Hour 2, Hal Blaine introduces us to his Flower Society, YMO’s Haruomi Hosono plays Galaga, and coming to us from the Little City in Space, the LCS news theme “Tea-A-Wanna Whistle”_ truly a slice of KFAI history, following hot on the heels of Duke Ellington’s “Caravan”, Piero Umiliani style! The theme of the 4(+1)@4 was the Moon… bands with “Moon” in their name, songs with “Moon” in the title, and of course Bucket Hingley’s celebrated Moon Ska Records. We forgot to bring our current crop of Lollipops, so we reprised the mysterious animated character “Fizzy”. And the rest of hour 3 was equally effervescent, so drink up, you’ve got two pints to get through!
