Poet Richard Broderick visits the studio to talk about Unfortunately, It Was Paradise, a tribute to Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish Saturday, April 11, 7:00 PM, at Open Book. The event features Fady Joudah, winner of the 2007 Yale Younger Poets competition, with David Mura, Anya Achtenberg, Raed Abughazeleh and music by Salah Abdelfattah.

In the second half of the show, we play 2/3 of an interview with Slate.com editor David Plotz before technical difficulties intervene. David Plotz is the author of Good Book: The Bizarre, Hilarious, Disturbing, Marvelous, and Inspiring Things I Learned When I Read Every Single Word of the Bible. It’s based on his Slate.com project, Blogging the Bible. We will rebroadcast this interview in its entirety at a later date. The spoken word tracks are from a new CD by Roy McBride and Willie Murphy called Traffic.
