Award-winning author Charles Baxter visits the studio to talk about an upcoming benefit for hunger relief in the Twin Cities: a benefit for the Second Harvest Heartland foodshelf featuring readings by Patricia Hampl, Michael Dennis Browne, Ray Gonzalez, and of course Charles Baxter. It takes place October 27th at 8 p.m. at Coffman Theatre at the University of Minnesota.

Also this week, Jim Lenfestey stops by to talk about a tribute event for poet Bill Holm in celebration of his posthumous collection, The Chain Letter of the Soul: New and Selected Poems. The event takes place Monday, Nov. 2nd at Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis and features readings by Robert Bly, Marcella Brekken, Emilie Buchwald, Phil Bryant, and many others.

Novelist Scott Muskin also joins us in the studio to talk about his debut novel The Annunciations of Hank Myerson, Mama’s Boy and Scholar, winner of the Parthenon Prize for Fiction.
