Tonight the good doctors of dub presented a very cool special entitled Japan Loves Reggae. Of course we played a number of tracks from Dry Heavy, Mute Beat, Little Tempo, and Likkle Mai. But we also aired some new artists that have never been played on the Echo Chamber — like Mantis, Fishmans, Bagdad Cafe the Trench Town, and Dubsensemania. Also, for ambience we had a bit of traditional Japanese music (overlayed and for seques), clips from Godzilla, a theme song from the Hamtaro anime series, and a nice jingle from Likkle Mai herself. Konichiwa!
During the first hour we went back to the opening of the Nordic Roots Festival 2008. The open group was Waltz with me led Annbjork Lien, with Bruce Molsky, Matts Eden and Tristan Clarridge. Recording engineer for the concert was Chris Dronen, and edit by Dan Rein.
During the second hour we had an interview with local group, Dreamland Faces. We heard live tunes plus a song from their 7 recording Chompin’. We also heard a track from Thomas Mapfumo, and Beausoleil.
