PLEDGE DRIVE SHOW: You may make a pledge via this website. If you weave around, you’ll find the link. Tell them (them who track this stuff) you heard about it on Freewheelin’. Yada Yada.

Angie Pykonen (of KFAI’s In Your Ear) and I were joined by a couple of guests this afternoon:

Ron Thums (formerly of the great, sorely missed, Friday night show “Radio Rumpus Room”), stopped in to participate in the hijinx and keep the show focused in the right direction, whatever that means.

Also, Tea Simpson of L’Assassins stopped by. Freewheelin’ is sponsoring the L’Assassins Record Release & Pajama Party, Saturday night at Lee’s. Reckless Ones, Violent Shifter & DJ Travis will also be perfoming.

Anyway, Tea is a cool lady and we were thrilled she could stop in. Unfortunately, with all the pledge drive hoopla, we couldn’t give her as much time as we would like. We did manage to chat a bit, play a couple of L’Assassins and Reckless Ones songs, and have a few giggles. Hopefully, she and her bandmates will be back on the show sometime soon.

Thanks to all of you who made a pledge to Freewheelin’. I love ya’.

Think you may want to see a list of all the songs we played today? Then click “more” and you’ll be magically taken to the land of playlists. From there, you’ll also be able to link into the archive.

It was a crazy kind of night….in a cloud of ganja smoke…as Dr. StrangeDub and DJ Baby Swiss presented the annual Echo Chamber “Free the Marijuana” special. From the “Free the Marijuana” anthem of Audio Active & Bim Sherman, to Bill Laswell’s “Hashisheen” album; from I.R.P.‘s “I Dream of Marijuana”, to “Roll It” from Soom T & Mungo’s Hi-Fi, it was a very heady show indeed.

Thanks for pledging your financial support to the station. No play list available.

Special pledge drive show with lots of guests, including Claudia Schmidt & Andra Suchy!

KFAI The MN Sound host Jonathan Kennedy joined me on this special pledge drive show. We spun favorite local bands and shared SXSW 2012 discoveries! And, I premiered new Blood’n‘Stuff!

Many thanks to all those people who called in to pledge their support to KFAI and Century Song.

To during the second hour we had live music with Jack Klatt performing originals as well as tunes from the ’20’s and ’30’s.

Many thanks to Melinda “J” and Minister Thomas Bady for coming in and pledge rapping with me for Songs of Praise. Thanks also to Pam Hill for all of her support and assistance.
