“Spider” John Koerner and Tony “Little Sun” Glover are the two surviving members of the influential blues and folk trio “Koerner Ray and Glover,” which formed in Minneapolis in the early 1960s and influenced a generation of blues and rock musicians with their albums “Blues Rags and Hollers,” “More Blues Rags and Hollers” and “The Return of Koerner, Ray and Glover.”
The great music keeps on coming… Tonight was the debut of these 3 excellent releases: Super Hi-Fi’s “Dub to the Bone” album (on Electric Cowbell); Bandulu Dub’s Hyder Flares EP (on Original Dub Gathering); and Ondatropica’s self-titled deluxe double-CD (on Soundway). The good doctor celebrated the recent avalanche of great Latin releases with a half-hour set that included Ondatropica, Batida, M.A.K.U. Soundsystem, The Peronists, Quantic presenta Flowering Inferno, and Mariachi el Bronx (Super Guachin Remix). More recent releases from The Breadwinners, Adrian Sherwood, Subactive Soundsystem, Victor Rice, Prince Fatty, Beres Hammond, Mystical Weapons, Citizen Sound, Plenn, and Rod Anton & the Ligerians.
