Today we celebrated Women’s history month. We began with music from South Indian vocalist, S. Sowmya from a concert she performed for the Indian Music Society of Minnesota.

In the second hour we began with music from Frifot (Caprice), followed by music from Ida Widawati, from Sunda, Indonesia (Celestian Harmonies), followed by music from Zarsanga of the Pashtu of Afghanistan (Long Distance), followed by Iran’s great singer Qamar, followed music from Finland’s queen of the accordion, Maria Kalaniemi with Timo Alakotila (Amigo), then a few live tracks from Altan and Dervish. The show closed with a track from the Slavic Soul Party (Knitting Factory).
