We welcomed Sonny Knight into the studio this morning in the 11:00 hour to talk about his live debut with The Lakers. You’ll hear more from Sonny Knight and The Lakers in the future—he let us know some recording may be underway in not too long. We also gave tickets away to Sonny’s show and Carrie Rodriguez, and heard brand new music from The Boys n’ the Barrels…

During the first hour we listened to A. Kanyakumari, one of South India’s great viollinists. This was a concert recorded by the Indian Society of Minnesota in October of 1991.
During the second hour we Mauricio Sanchez and Edgar playing original music on Andean wind and string instruments.

Ron and Jean sat in for Ken this week. Of course songs about truck driving, train derailments, North Korean nuclear threats and very many examples of questionable marriage practices followed. Probably better you just listen to the archive and judge for yourself. (BTW, only two more weeks till Mr. Hippler returns.)
