If you think the United States has stood still, who built the largest shopping center in the world? — Richard Nixon

This week we returned to a long-dormant theme: Things That Are Bad For You. That is, not just subjectively bad on moral grounds, but flatout, ill-advised, road-tested, sure-to-come-back-and-bite-you-in-the-ass BAD IDEAS. Really, as your attorney, we strongly advise you not to do this stuff!

Three countries, three centuries. String music from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries from Sweden, Denmark and Norway with some northern Swedish duo fiddling thrown in to demonstrate continuity. Finishing up with various flutes a la Steinar Ofsdal.

We heard new releases from Mark Olson, LA songwriter Alison Subol working under the name A Fine Frenzy, UK band Stateless (not out in the US yet), and The Chemical Brothers (just released). We were also joined in the 8:00 hour by Donna Miller, community mover and shaker, and chair of the Rondo Days:http://www.rondoaveinc.org celebration. Next week (July 24th), Andy will bring us great music all morning as I travel down to Texas. He has great taste in music, so it will be a lot of fun!
