We were joined at mid-show via phone by Barry Pirkola of Duluth’s Hoot Owls. The Owls will be playing at Saturday’s Surf Stomp at the Hexagon Bar. We talked about the challenges of being a surf’n‘hot rod band in Duluth, traditional hot rods and their great new album, Alien Scrapyard.

Tis the season for Nordic Roots….2007 festival at the Cedar Cultural Center Sept 28-30. We’ll preview visiting artists for the next few weeks, both in the coming ensembles and in other endeavors..
