Birthdays-in-Blue for Five-Count ‘Em-Five RECORD MEN—Emile Berliner, inventor of the flat disc(records as we know ‘em): RALPH PEER, pioneering AR Man who discovered both Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family in the ‘Big Bang’, of Country Music, MILT GABLER, founder of Commodore Records-one of the first independent labels-and later producer of both Louis Jordan, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Bill Haley and many others for DECCA; Henry Glover of KING and CHESS infamy; and BUMPS BLACKWELL of Specialty Records.
We celebrate their legacy with a number of tunes from the recent BEAR FAMILY release ONE MORE RECORD.
