Another summer show full of new music…and a couple of surprises. Starting off the program was the excellent new Kukan Dub Lagan:http://www.kukantaiko.com/ New Life New Vision. Other new items included Dawa Hi-Fi’s latest (Antik Things) and the very cool From the Oriental School of Dub from Fedayi Pacha:http://fedayipacha.net/ (on Hammerbass). One (by request) surprise: legendary folkie Arlo Guthrie in dub! And to celebrate the new Kukan release, our summer mix was Kukan’s Dub Journey.
Tonight’s program honors American Independence Day and the important role played by the French Marquis de Lafayette, who loved the ideals of the young nation so much that he came to the US, lead American troups against the British, was wounded andgenerously gave of his fortune to clothe and arm the Continental troops. He persuaded the French king to send money, troops and gunboats to the American patriots. Tonight’s music is a mixture of old and new French songs.
“La luna” es tema y motivo de las canciones (y un poema) de este programa. En defensa de la legalidad y como saludo solidario al pueblo hondureño, la última parte de este programa consiste de música tradicional de Honduras.
