World Music

Tonight’s program features Advent music from the monks of Keur Moussa Abbey in Senegal. A short story follows about Advent in several areas of France.

New and old music in French follows from RFI (Radio France Internationale) with a common theme: l’Attente Amoureuse, or Lovers’ Wait. The program continues with selections from a variety of artists, both old and new.

During the first hour we heard a concert from Irish accordionist Paddy O’Brien with singer and accompanist Paul Wehling. The concert was recorded at the Riverview Cafe by Mario Vano and Dan Rein in 2008.

During the second hour sitarist David Whetstone play Rag Todi live.
